One of the things that enables browsers to speed up the way you surf is by making a 'cache' of the sites you surf. The problem with this is that after a period of surfing these files build up and can affect your systems performance. From time to time, it's a good idea to clear out these files.

Once you open the preferences click on the triangle next to WEB BROWSER, you should see a lits of options like the one to the left. Click on ADVANCED and you should see the screen as it is to the left.

Under 'Cache' you can set some options. Normally you'll leave them to the defaults listed to the left. When you're ready to delete the cache, click on the "EMPTY NOW" button.

That's it. Click OK, and you're good to go!
